How to join.

    1. Participants must register first before submitting.
      Fill up the registration form to confirm your participation.

    2. Download the scripts provided within the registration form & submission form.
      (On ground: Entertainment / Online: Commercial)
    3. Create an audio file of you voice acting 2 scripts of your choice.
    4. Upload your video to your google drive or dropbox.

MEET THE JUDGES & VOICE ACTING EXPERTS

 

Azman Zulkiply

 

Azman is a professional voice actor based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been recording for ten years and is well known for his commercial, animation, and video games career in both English and Malay language.

 

He also has extensive experience as a voice director for animation & video game and provides mentorships as well as educational talks on voice acting.

 

Su Ling

 

Su Ling is a voice actress that has been voicing professionally since 2008. She is best known for her starring role as No Straight Roads’ protagonist Mayday, a videogame that was independently developed in Malaysia by indie studio Metronomik.

 

Su Ling has also voiced characters such as Ying from BoBoiBoy and Ms. Dira from Rimba Racer, as well as appearing in Malay-language dubs of anime and cartoon series such as Cardcaptor Sakura and Xiaolin Showdown.

 

She is also in the official Funimation dub of Kageki Shojo! making her the first Malaysian actor to be cast in an American dub.

 

Steven Bones

 

Malaysia’s man of a thousand voices. Steven’s light-hearted animated style and vocal versatility makes him one of the top Voiceover (VO) talents in Malaysia. He has voiced countless commercials, corporate videos, TV promos, cartoons, dubs, and even video games since beginning his VO career in 2010.

 

Notable VO works include Tag in Rimba Racer, Kumar in Bola Kampung The Movie, Chuck Chicken, Zuke in No Straight Roads (Video game by Metronomik), and many more!

 

He is also the voice and mastermind behind viral videos such as The Mamak King, WiFi Dah Kong, Aku Minum Arak, and MORE via his channel Steven Bones Everything.

Judges Criteria

1. Clarity: Message and context are conveyed clearly.

2. Enunciation: Words are pronounced clearly.

3. Acting: Bring script to life and get the personality & feelings across.

4. Pacing: Overall rhythm and tempo of the read.

5. Articulation: Sounds natural overall. Not sound like you’re reading.

 

Category

  COMPETITION RULES  

    • Participants must register first before submitting.
    • Must be living in Malaysia. (according to SOP) and have done their 2 doses of Vaccinations
    • On Ground category will be Entertainment Themed. (Movies, Video Games, Anime)
    • We will be accepting submissions between 22/10/2021 and 20/11/2021 11:59PM.
    • Participants will select 2 scripts of choice provided by ServerDNA.
    • Submission can be in audio format (.wav/.mp3/.mp4) or video format (.mp4/.mpg/.mkv)
    • All entries will be judged by serverDNA’s selected judges between 21/11/2021 and 25/11/2021.
    • Top 10 finalists will be announced on ServerDNA Facebook page on 26/11/2021.
    • Top 10 finalists will be contacted via e-mail/call and are required to be present On Ground, in the Ballroom on the 4th of December 2021 for a Final Showdown.
    • Finalists will be required to provide verification of identification details.
    • Finalist who are absent on the day will be disqualified.
    • Judges decisions are final & absolute. 
    • By entering this contest, serverDNA has permission to post your submission on our social media platform with credit to you, the creator.
    • Prize pool payment will be made no more than 30 days after the event.
    • Final script will be provided on the day of finalist judging.
